Motorola Supplier Programs

With the vast global footprint of Motorola’s supply chain comes a responsibility that we take seriously — an opportunity to positively affect the people who help make our products and the places where they are made. This means championing acceptable standards for our supply chain and using our commercial influence to trigger improvement.

Motorola has created a set of standards addressing ethical, labor, health, safety and environmental issues in the supply chain and has compiled them in its Business Conduct Expectations for Suppliers policy. We partner with suppliers to ensure effective loss prevention and security programs, including government-sponsored initiatives to secure the international supply chain. Through our material disclosure process, our suppliers must disclose substances of concern and recycled material content for each part we receive.

These requirements are incorporated into all new contracts with suppliers. We assess conformance to them and require improvements where needed. When making sourcing decisions, we consider a supplier’s progress in meeting our requirements as well as its ongoing performance.

To be truly effective and to have a lasting impact on improving working conditions, human rights, safety and environmental responsibility within our supply chain, we know that this approach must be adopted by the entire electronics industry. Therefore, Motorola is actively involved in industry collaboration.
